Metropolis by Jan Garncarek is a lamp inspired by the designer's curiosity about the possibilities of metallurgy.
The lamp is hand made of brass, by employing traditional metalworking processes along with other methods that are slowly descending into oblivion. Plates made using the metal spinning technique are one example.
Handcrafting may result in subtle variations between pieces. The lamp has an attractive patina finish resulting from the natural characteristics of brass.
