The inspiration behind the furniture comes from the Czech Art Nouveau aesthetics and multidisciplinary artists of the time, such as František Blek, a fine artist who worked primarily within mediums of sculpture and graphics. He did, however, design his villa and all of its interior furnishings.
The villa is an excellent example of Gesamtkunstwerk, in which all elements seamlessly interconnect into one total work of art. As a result, Jiří and Taja came up with the notion of combining design and drawings, blurring the lines between applied and fine arts. Jiří created the sculptural furniture, which Taja etched using a traditional wood-burning method from the aforementioned period. These influences are present in the limited collection of collectable furniture with designs and drawings related to the era. The furniture pieces are meticulously hand-crafted in the Czech Republic, paying particular attention to delicate details such as mitre joints, bevelled edges, and a soft-touch matte finish.
