Josian is a living room chair produced in rattan and moulded oak plywood. The designer blended the flexibility and strength of these two materials to create this design. By splitting it in two before bending, the rattan vine is optimized, which allows for a more efficient assembly and a minimalist appearance. The goal was to create an innovative design by repurposing an old craft process and utilizing the rattan liana's remarkable characteristics.
