The visible folds make the usually solid and cold material look soft and tangible. Typically, the industry considers this deformation to be a defect. Since the folds clamp in the bottom of the pressure vase, the deformation became a functional detail.

The technique was developed with the self-modified hydraulic press in Tim Teven's studio.
