Close ×Eyvind Andreassen
Eyvind Andreassen works in a time-consuming technique that involves both the hand and the mind in a near-meditative state. Hand-rolled clay coils are stacked one on top of the other to create a variety of organic forms. Each idea becomes apparent via the innumerable clay coils and fingerprints, and time takes the form of a physical object.
Compression of the recurring structure on the surface of the sculptures with a single finger results in distinct and detailed rows that grow out of clay. Andreassen's interaction with clay and the techniques, methods, cracks and mishaps that occurred during the production are visible and reflect through the objects.
