    FRANCIS WILSON

     

    Born in Michigan in 1935.  He obtained a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1957 and moved to New York.  In 1965, he left New York and spent a year traveling in France Greece and Turkey.  He settled in Paris in 1967 and began dividing his time between Paris and Provence from 1973.  In 1973, he obtained a master's degree from the Université de Paris La Sorbonne University.

     

    He began exhibiting in 1979, mainly in Europe but also in Japan, South America and the United States. South America and the United States.  His work includes textiles, paintings, sculptures and drawings. 

     

    In 1982, he went on a lecture tour of the United States.  In 1987 he accompanied the exhibition "Ten Artists from France" exhibition in Colombia, where he was in charge of hanging and inaugurating the exhibition at the National Museum of Bogotá. exhibition at Bogota's National Museum. In 1987, he was named Chevalier in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
