Maria Lenskjold

Maria Lenskjold is a ceramic artist based in Copenhagen whose practice bases itself on a guiding principle: she investigates and interacts with common pictorial artistic categories, challenging them in playful and unpretentious genre breaks. Her ceramic objects and installations frequently prompt the viewer to recognize an implicit function that, upon closer inspection, is simply an abstraction, even a caricature of, say, a vase.
