Ward Strootman

Ward Strootman grew up in a family of jewellers but was the only one of his generation drawn to gemmology. While studying business, he realised his true passion lay in gemstones. After earning his degree, he pursued gemmology at the GIA in London, where his fascination deepened.

Back in Amsterdam, he joined his mother at JeSse Jewelry, attending shows and observing an industry unchanged for decades. Seeking a fresh approach, he combined his gemological expertise with a passion for aesthetics, viewing raw minerals as art. This vision led to Ward Strootman, a fusion of Natural History, Art, and Jewellery.
