Originally from the mountainous city of Chiogqing, China, Jialun Xiong is a Los Angeles-based furniture, interiors, and accessory designer.
Inspired by her hometown's distinctive architecture and sprawling urbanism, as well as the modern skeletal steel buildings from the mid-20th century, Jialun designs pieces that embrace and reveal their fundamental structures. By leaving the frameworks fully exposed, she portrays lines as building blocks, allowing them "to become significant parts of the entire picture" - not to convey minimalism, but to push the boundaries of their construction.
