MONOLITH I is a tall sculptural vessel shaped by a continuous, twisting rhythm of irregular geometric forms. Its vertical silhouette gives it the presence of a solid architectural fragment, while the shifting planes and deep recesses create a sense of movement throughout the form.

The name MONOLITH refers to the impression of a single massive stone — an object that feels heavy and geological despite being surprisingly lightweight. Rather than following the proportions of a traditional vase, the form is developed as a sculptural volume, with each section slightly shifting around the central axis. Its dark mineral surface combines deep charcoal and earthy brown tones with naturally occurring variations and visible particles within the material. Fine linear marks run across the surface, reinforcing the impression of a roughly worked or weathered stone. Each piece is meticulously built by hand from a unique, sustainable composite of recycled paper pulp, natural cement, mineral pigments, and binders. Once fully dried and finished, the material behaves more like aged wood than cold stone — robust, surprisingly lightweight, slightly elastic, and highly resistant to splitting.

The irregularities of the surface are an integral part of the work. Variations in texture, colour and form are preserved rather than concealed, making every piece individually distinctive.
