Overview
Charlyn Reyes is a Montreal based artist and designer whose work focuses on sculptural design objects and material exploration.
Moving fluidly between mediums, she currently works primarily in clay, a material she is drawn to for its history, tactility and deep connections to the earth. She holds a Bachelor of Design degree from York University in Toronto. Her reverence for the hand made traditional craft practices informs her ongoing explorations of form through natural materials imbued with energy and presence. Her practice is guided by intuition and a heightened sensitivity to material behaviour and process, allowing forms to emerge organically rather than being strictly predetermined.
