Elke Sada is a German ceramic artist based in Leipzig.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1987, she worked as a research technician for 12 years before pursuing her dream of becoming a full time artist. She later completed a BA in 3D Design (Ceramics) at Bath Spa University in 2003, followed by an MA in Ceramics & Glass at the Royal College of Art in London in 2005. Sada’s ceramic works have been exhibited in numerous galleries internationally since 2004. Her practice has been featured in various publications and is held in several major collections, including the Musée Ariana in Geneva, the International Design Museum in Munich, the World Collection in Miami. Shade has also been nominated for several awards over the years including the Loewe Craft Prize in 2019.
