Overview

Jose Chafer is a Spanish sculptor with a deep interest in nature and the phenomena that emerges within it.

He observes and analyzes the multitude of forms, textures, and colors found in natural environments, translating them into sculptural language.

His practice is rooted in the study of natural systems and the relationships that occur within them. He is particularly drawn to nature’s cyclical logic, where matter exists in a constant state of movement, transformation and renewal. This ongoing process of change informs his approach to form, emphasizing continuity over permanence and evolution over fixed outcomes. His work often reflects a sensitivity to balance, rhythm and organic growth, echoing patterns found in geological and biological systems.

Chafer has participated in numerous national and international art fairs, and his work is included in important collections such as JP Morgan, Four Seasons and Loewe. He currently works in Madrid, Spain, with Galeria Álvaro Alcázar, in Beirut (Lebanon) with Opera Gallery, and in Antwerp (Belgium) with Forwart Gallery.
