Overview
Roman Sedina hails from the South Bohemian town of Bechyne, historically known as a major center of ceramics in the postwar period. This heritage has strongly influenced his practice, which spans a broad spectrum of techniques, colors and textures.
With an unconventional approach and a distinctive, original body of work, Sedona pushes the boundaries of functional objects into the realms of fine art and conceptual design. His pieces often challenge traditional expectations of ceramics, combining expressive surfaces with experimental forms that blur the line between utility and artistic statement. Quality craftsmanship lies at the core of his collections. During his university studies, he founded the brand Limited, and shortly thereafter his first collection was acquired by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. His work has been repeatedly recognized for its innovation, earning nominations for Designer of the Year at the Czech Grand Design Awards in 2013, 2016 and 2017. Through this practice, Sedina continues to expand the language of contemporary ceramics, merging technical mastery with a bold, exploratory vision.
