For Jacques Monneraud, ceramics is a return to the essence of creation where intuition, craftsmanship and the rhythm of the hand transform raw material into a personal form of artistic expression.
Jacques Monneraud is a French ceramicist and designer based in the southwest of France. Before dedicating himself to ceramics, he worked as a creative director in advertising in Paris, earning numerous international distinctions, including a Gold Lion at Cannes. In 2021, he left the advertising industry to pursue a more intuitive, hands-on creative practice.
Coming from a family of artists and craftspeople, Monneraud's approach is deeply rooted in artistic heritage and traditional craftsmanship. Working at the potter's wheel, he explores the relationship between gesture, material and form, embracing the slower rhythm of making and the freedom of instinctive creation. His practice reflects a return to the essential qualities of craftsmanship, where each object emerges through a direct dialogue between the artist and the material.
