Overview
Birgitte Du Madsen is a Copenhagen based design art designer whose work centers on quality, craftsmanship and material exploration.

With a background rooted in both design and hands on making, she approaches each piece with a strong sense of precision and a deep respect for process. By combining materials such as gypsum, resin, concrete and stone, and working across a range of techniques, she develops objects that are both tactile and architectural. Her practice is defined by an independent and understated approach, where experimentation and restraint coexist in the pursuit of clear, intentional forms. As she notes “if one goes into the basic principles of geometry, the possibilities of form are endless.” This idea underpins much of her work, where simple geometric foundations are explored and transformed into refined, sculptural pieces. Light also plays a central role in her practice, not only as a source of illumination, but as a functional and atmospheric element that interacts with form, surface and space. Through this interplay, her work achieves a quiet balance between structure and sensitivity, resulting in objects that are both minimal and expressive.
