Fresh.Glass x Lavdanskyworkshop

Overview

The first collaboration between the two artisan studios, Fresh.Glass and Lavdansky Workshop began in 2021. Both brands focus on handmade artisanal techniques, small scale production and a deep engagement with native heritage expressed through the visual language of contemporary art.

Fresh.Glass is a collective of three designers: Sergei Martinov, Konstantin Gvozdez and Daria Bolkhovitina. The brand was founded by Sergei Martinov in 2016 as an experimental laboratory aimed at exploring a wide range of glass techniques. In 2018, Konstantin Gvozdev joined and led the engineering direction of the studio, establishing a strong technological framework. With Daria Bolkhovitina’s arrival in 2020, the development and production of design objects began to take shape more fully. The studio works with glass, exploring its material nature and its tactile, emotional and visual dimensions. Lavdansky Workshop is a project by Grigory and Semyon Lavdansky, formed on the ideological and industrial foundations of the Basmart family workshop, established in the 1990s and focused on church decorative arts and interiors. The Lavdansky Workshop aims to integrate traditional ecclesiastical craft techniques into contemporary design. The workshop works with wood, metals and experimental materials focusing primarily on fine metalworking techniques such as embossing, basma, casting and forging.
