Overview
Milan Pekar is a Czech ceramic artist whose work primarily focuses on effect ceramic glazes, in which various types of crystals grow in glaze melts.
He created new crystal glazes in which metallic crystals of iron, copper, and molybdenum, as well as crystals with an illusive effect, grow on the surface. Pekar also makes ceramic furniture out of soft extruded profiles. He perceives furniture as an object of fine arts inspired by archetypal shapes in architecture or applied art; their function is not strictly predetermined.
