SYNTHESIS - BOON_EDITIONS N°4 came about as a process of connecting the limitlessness of digital design - taking objects created purely for concept and artistic reasons, and translating them into reality as tangible forms.
The challenge was to bring these furniture concepts, that had been idealized without the burdens of fabrication and materiality constraints, into the real world without compromising form or quality. This proved to be far more exciting than arduous, as we were able to find ways to maintain the original gestures of the designs, while also adding a level of originality and context that couldn't have existed without going through this process.
The formal concept was about elegant simplicity. Referencing previous eras and contemporary themes in an attempt to create something ambitiously timeless.
