This hand-knotted rug shows shades of terracotta and beige through the use of stripes and intersecting shapes to give a relaxed feel to a geometric structure. The pattern was inspired by traditional woven textiles by artists such as Anni Albers and Ethel Stein. Paddy often looked closely at the weaving and wanted to bring the movement in the details to a larger canvas to show off the fluidly meandering curves. The irregular shape is an extension of the unstructured charm of this piece.
