Mokko is an Amsterdam based design studio with a collection of interior objects designed by founder Aad Bos.
Objects by Mokko feature a rhythm of monolithic form, created through an iteration of volumes and voids. Architectural elements are balanced, weighed and stripped from excess, until the essence of the inspiration is translated into a sculptural object that is emotionally resonant.
Mokko stands for robust furniture building with meticulous attention to detail and finishing. Natural materials are sustainably sourced and selected for constructive and aesthetic qualities. All objects are custom-made by artisans in the vicinity of Amsterdam and conceived as future heirlooms; intended to be valued, used and passed down through generations.
Mokko's founder Aad Bos (1985) is a Dutch designer working in the field of product design. Aad strives for honest quality and pure form, while creating objects that cannot be placed in a certain time period or trend. Drawing inspiration from archetypes in architecture across various eras, places, and cultures, Aad transforms architectural elements into tactile, usable objects that stand the test of time.
TAES COLLECTION
The Taes collection is designed by Mokko's founder and designer Aad Bos for BOON_ROOM.
The collection draws inspiration from the majestic sloping-sided architectural platforms, historically used for religious, ceremonial and defensive purposes. In stacked form, the platforms raise monuments such as pyramids and temples. Single platforms were used as foundations of buildings and defensive structures.
The objects are crafted by artisans in the vicinity of Amsterdam, in close collaboration with Aad Bos. The collection combines woodcraft, metalwork and stonemasonry, using the highest quality sustainably sourced natural materials.
