Overview

RF Studio is a Peruvian experimental art and architecture practice exploring the relationship between contemporary habitats and natural ecosystems, where biodiversity, landscape and cultural practices intersect.

The studio develops site specific projects and custom handcrafted works that respond directly to local environments, materials and ecological conditions. Their approach merges architecture, design and artistic research, creating interventions that are deeply rooted in place while engaging with broader questions of sustainability, heritage and coexistence between human and natural systems. RF Studio’s work has been presented internationally, including at the Sydney Biennale, the Malba Museum, Zona Maco, Untitled Art Fair, and Nunu Fine Arts Gallery in Taipei and New York, with PHILIA serving as the studio’s U.S. representative.

Their practice also extends into hospitality and architecture, with notable collaborations including the design of the Central, Mil and Kjolle restaurants alongside chefs Pia León and Virgilio Martínez. Other significant projects include an ecological boutique hotel for the Yayasan Bali Purnato Art Foundation in Indonesia and the award winning House of Azpitia in Peru. Through these projects, RF Studio develops a language that blurs the boundaries between built form and natural environment, positioning design as a living system shaped by ecology, culture and craft.
