Cal Summers

Raised in a creative family, his father a still photographer and his mother an art director, Summers was immersed in a visually rich environment from an early age. This upbringing laid the foundation for his creative sensibility and strong visual awareness. After graduating in Design and Craft from the University of Brighton, he continued his studies at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His work has since gained recognition from leading designers and architects, and he is now represented by galleries in New York, Montreal and Paris. 

Inspired by Brutalist architecture and his surrounding environment, Summers’ work establishes a dialogue between contrasting elements. By pairing weathered materials with contemporary forms, his pieces evoke a sense of timeless ambiguity, appearing as though they could belong equally to the past or the future.
