Overview

Daan De Wit is a young Belgian object and furniture designer.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in interior design in Brussels, he went on to graduate with a postgraduate degree in furniture design in 2018. He gained experience in various architecture and design studios, including Junya Ishigami + Associates in Tokyo, before founding his eponymous studio in 2019. In his practice, he focuses on small collections of functional objects, created through a combination of different techniques and materials.

His work is driven by a careful attention to proportion, detail and materiality, with a focus on refining essential forms. Each piece emerges from a process led approach, where experimentation and precision are held in balance. The studio often explores the relationship between function and form, resulting in objects that are both restrained and quietly expressive. Through this approach, De Wit develops a coherent body of work that reflects a consistent interest in clarity, construction and use.
