Henry leads the studio with a focus on uncovering new possibilities within neglected materials and emerging industrial futures. His work explores disruptive approaches to manufacturing that challenge conventional production systems, revealing alternative ways of making. He draws inspiration from nature’s ability to adapt and regenerate, and believes that design and ecological thinking can merge to reshape our understanding of the material landscape. 

The studio’s unique manufacturing process was developed in response to rapidly changing material conditions, critically examining the consequences of technological development. A nichrome wire is shaped and placed inside a container, which is then filled with nylon powder and various types of sand, including leftover nylon powder from SLS 3D printing, a material that is not recyclable. An electric current is passed through the wire, generating heat that causes the mixture to solidify around it, opening up new possibilities in form, scale and application. Through this process, temporary linear structures are transformed into organic, bone-like shapes, as the materials bond into a single unified form.
